Somatics & Social Justice Intensive

In July we held our first 4-day SSJ Intensive with thirty organizers, movement leaders and activists from around the country. The training was an introduction to somatics as a theory of change for transformational movement work. It offered participants an opportunity to explore a more embodied leadership style; time to reflect on conditions and experiences that have shaped and continue to shape them and their communities; and a more felt sense of somatic transformation. We believe personal and social change are interdependent and that somatic methodology has a radical contribution to make to the effectiveness and transformative capacity of individuals and groups working to change relations of power in the world. We are excited to pilot the SSJ Intensives as one move toward this change.
