Teacher Training Year One

We are thrilled to report we just wrapped up our first successful and compelling year of Teacher Training with social justice facilitators, organizers and movement builders from social justice organizations and political projects throughout the U.S. In order to start meeting the overwhelming but exciting knock at our door, and bring a quality somatics to movement work, we need more competent teachers. We imagine a cultivated cadre of teachers that can help spread somatics to social justice organizations and alliances, organizers, community members, and leaders, in service of systemic transformation. Teacher Training participants were selected for this training based on their years of somatic training, commitment to individual healing work, and experience in the social justice movement. It proved to be an engaging first year of rigorous somatic practice, deep openings, and clear, committed vision and purpose. As one teacher trainee said:

“As someone with deep commitments to radical politics and community-based healing, I’ve often felt sad and scared about the split between these parts of my work and my world. For me, generative somatics offers an incredibly powerful re-integration of these things, and gs Teacher Training feels like a vehicle to move this integration out into our broader movement for social justice and liberation.”
